SURPRISE!!!!

On June 24th  Kathy, Cody, Danielle, Ryan and myself surprised Jim with a Re-Birthday Party.  On June 26, 2003 Jim received the gift of life, a new heart.  He is a 7 year post heart transplant recipient.  We had so much fun.  I created a video.  Once I figure out how to install it,  please watch.

Yesterday my husband, Mike and I went out to eat at a Mexican restaurant.  Then went shopping for flowers, top soil and mulch to make the graves pretty.  My mom, dad, grandma, grandpa, aunts and uncles are buried at Maple Grove Cemetery in Lancaster, Ohio.  The graves turned out so nice.

TEAM DANIELLE

On July 10th, 2010 there will be another 5k run in Columbus, Ohio to honor transplant donors, transplant recipients and to educate people on the importance of organ donation.  My friend, Jim, is a 7 year heart post transplant recipient   Last year (2009) Jim put together a team in remembrance of his donor, Danielle, who was a beautiful young lady.   This year I will be part of Team Danielle.  I will be in a wheel chair, but that's ok :).  I am very excited to meet and talk to different transplant recipients.

Being diagnosed with Alpha -1 has been a very hard adjustment emotionally and physically.  In the beginning I was scared off my rocker, but then the thought kind of disappeared.  My doctor wanted me to sign up for a rehab program.  I remember my first consult with the rehab therapist.  Her first question was:  what is one of the main goals you want to accomplish from working out?  I replied; I need to become as strong as a I can (I started to cry) so I can go see me daughter, Danielle,  perform in color-guard.  God blessed me for all 4 years to be able to see my daughter perform at the football games and competitions.
