What does Mother's Day Mean to me? I remember saying to my mom, I will never say that or do this when I am a mom! My mom looked at me with a smile and said, wait and see. Boy! was she right.....................
In June 2010 it will be 9 years that my mom has been gone. I miss her so much. She was beautiful, kind, giving, caring, selfless and she was the "best" grandma that a grandma could be.
God has blessed me for 19 years now with a lovely daughter, Danielle. It has been so rewarding being a mom, like making her feel safe and fixing all her boo boo's when she was little. I remember going on field trips, helping with field day and dances, baking cookies for parties and watching plays. One of my favorites was Danielle being in color guard. I am not a football fan, but watching the band was awesome. Plus I really enjoyed the band competitions. God really blessed me to be able to watch my daughter in color guard for four years. Time goes so fast. It seems like just yesterday she was in diapers and I could rock her to sleep. For me it is hard letting go, especially when I am ill. I know I have to because she has her own life to live, but this doesn't mean I will ever stop being a "MOM".
Happy Mother's Day Mommy. I love and miss you everyday.

- I was diagnosed with Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency on January 5th, 2005. It is an inherited condition in which there are low levels of AAT in the blood. Alpha-1 is an enzyme produced by the liver and released into the blood stream. One of the primary roles of AAT is to protect the lungs from (NE) Neutrophil Elastase an enzyme released by white blood cells which destroys the air sacs in the lungs. I am being evaluated for a double lung transplant. I grew up on Brookdale Rd. in Lancaster, Ohio. In 1983 I graduated from Berne Union High School in Sugar Grove, Ohio. I had a wonderful mom and dad growing up. Sadly they are both gone. I am an only child and my daughter is an only child who is a Freshman in college. My husband Mike and I have been together for 14 1/2 years. Our first date was on March 25, 1995. We got married on July 12, 2003 and live in Lancaster, Ohio. I have 3 dogs and 9 cats. I am a very big animal lover :)
